FRANCESCA ROSSI è un’artista esordiente con un grande amore per l’arte e l’architettura, materia in cui si è laureata e che è stato il punto di partenza per la sua ricerca artistica.
Il suo primo collage prende infatti vita nel 2017 e ha come soggetto principale il Padiglione dei Paesi Nordici dell’architetto Sverre Fehn, edificio situato nei Giardini della Biennale a Venezia. L’elemento architettonico così freddo e nordico nelle sue tinte e linee pulite viene invaso dal calore e dalla frenesia degli animali selvatici e da una rigogliosa vegetazione che impossessandosene lo trasforma in una vera e propria giungla. Una contrapposizione evidente che però mette in luce come elementi così distanti tra loro possano vivere in una simbiosi perfetta.
Con il passare del tempo la sua ricerca si focalizza sempre di più su concetti astratti, ma l’elemento architettonico o di design rimane comunque una presenza centrale. Per quanto riguarda la composizione dell’immagine gli artisti che l’hanno influenzata sono sicuramente quelli del movimento cubista come Pablo Picasso e Georges Braque e i futuristi come Umberto Boccioni, che con le loro immagini scomposte e frammentate hanno cambiato la percezione dello spazio e del tempo. Infine i surrealisti, con il celebre René Magritte, che ci hanno insegnato che nulla è impossibile per il nostro IO interiore.
I processi creativi che portano l’artista alla materializzazione dell’opera sono molteplici e differenti tra loro. Alcune volte parte già con un’idea ben precisa, avendo molto chiaro il tema che tratterà, il numero e il tipo di figure coinvolte e come verrà realizzato. Il passo successivo è dunque quello della ricerca del materiale, che seleziona da libri, riviste e da internet. Molto spesso però le immagini scovate non rispecchiano esattamente il concept iniziale e il lavoro viene quindi modificato in corso d’opera. Nonostante questo Francesca è fermamente convinta di aver ottenuto sempre un risultato più soddisfacente di quello iniziale. L’altro modo da cui può nascere l’opera è esattamente quello opposto. Ritrovarsi quindi a farsi suggestionare dalle immagini trovate senza avere un’idea chiara. Tutti i lavori rispecchino la personalità dell’artista, anche quelli su commissione dove si è limitati dalla richiesta del cliente, mostrano comunque il suo stile distintivo in quanto frutto di ragionamenti e riflessioni personali sulla vita.
Una cosa è comunque certa, per Francesca Rossi l’arte è un’arma molto potente attraverso la quale riesce ad esprimere la sua personale visione del mondo che spesso cela una critica alla società e che viene mostrata sconvolgendo gli equilibri naturali a cui il nostro occhio e mente sono abituati.

In fact, her first collage came to life in 2017 and has as its main subject the Nordic Countries Pavilion by architect Sverre Fehn, a building located in the Biennal gardens in Venice. The architectural element, so cold and Nordic in its colors and clean lines, is invaded by the warmth and frenzy of wild animals and by luxuriant vegetation which, taking possession of it, transforms it into a real jungle. An evident contrast which, however, highlights how elements so distant from each other can live in perfect symbiosis.
Over time, Francesca Rossi’s research focuses more and more on abstract concepts, but the architectural or design element remains a central presence. As for the composition of the image, the artists who influenced her are certainly those of the cubist movement, such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, and the futurists, such as Umberto Boccioni. These artists, with their decomposed and fragmented images, changed the perception of space and time. Other artists that influenced Rossi are the Surrealists, with the famous René Magritte, who taught us that nothing is impossible for our inner EGO.
The creative processes that lead the artist to the materialization of the work are multiple and different from each other. Sometimes, she starts with a precise idea, having very clear the theme she will deal with, the number and type of figures involved and how it will be accomplished. The next step is researching the material, which the artist selects from books, magazines, and the Internet. Very often, however, the images found do not exactly reflect the initial concept and the work is therefore modified over time. Despite this, Francesca is firmly convinced that she has always obtained a more satisfactory result than the initial one. Another way a work can arise is exactly the opposite: letting yourself being influenced by the images found without having a clear idea. All the works reflect the artist’s personality: even those on commission, where one is limited by the client’s request, show her distinctive style as the result of personal reasoning and reflections on life.
In any case, one thing is certain: for Francesca Rossi art is a very powerful weapon through which she manages to express her personal vision of the world that often hides a criticism of society shown by distressing the natural balances our eye and mind are used to.
